Changing Seasons
by Diane Graebner

Fall just gets here,
   but before you know
Winter is here,
   and down falls the snow.
Then comes spring
   and flowers bloom
The nights are brightened
   by the glowing moon
Then it's summer
   Then fall begins
then the snow starts falling
   down again!

Friendship
by Diane Graebner

May all the birds
rise and fly
May all the roses
touch the sky
May all the trees
blow in the wind
May all the turtles
find a friend
May all the clouds
blow in the mist
May all the flowers
be star-kissed
May the sky be bright blue
and in the center ring is you!

The Lake at Night
by Diane Graebner

The lake is shining
In the moonlight
The stars are shining bright
The wind is blowing
In the trees above
From a branch
Flies a dove

Mood Poem
by Diane Graebner

I'm hungry
Not hungry enough to fix my own dinner
when nobody else is home.

Not hungry like I'm ready to eat anything
that won't eat me first.

Not hungry like I'm craving rich fudge with nuts

But hungry for life.

Starving for a barefooted romp through
a wheat field in Spring

Starving for the sound of the wind
whistling through the leaves
of an old oak tree.

Starving for yellow daffodils
blooming in green meadows.

Unknown Worlds
by Diane Graebner

Far beyond our stars and sky,
Far beyond our sun,
There lies another unknown world,
Unknown to everyone.
Except the other creatures there,
In that other world so far
Beyond our sun, our moon, our sky,
And also every star.

I wish that I could visit
This unknown land to see
What other kinds of creatures
In this unknown land
could be
I wish that I could know
The other creatures there.
Are the friends or are they foe,
Can they love or care?

I wish that we could learn to live
And love and care and die
With that other unknown world,
Our neighbors in the sky!

Life on the Earth
by Diane Graebner

Up above the sky is blue
Off the leaves drips the dew
Feel the air, nice and clear
Music playing in my ear
The sky is blue,
The grass is green
What does all this loveliness mean?
I wish I knew
I wish I did
But I am just a little kid.
The mountains keep their secrets tight
They keep their secrets locked inside.
