Ring, Bells

by Helen Graebner

Ring, bells, everywhere --
From Iceland's treeless land
To Hawaii's palm-fringed shore.
From east to west
From pole to pole
Ring, bells, loud and long.
Let your clamor and cacophony
Make mankind stop their warring
To listen to your song.
Silver bells, golden bells,
Bells of bronze and iron gongs
Proclaim the news:
That Love was born
on Christmas Day!
Ring out hate and darkness,
Ring in love and light.
Ring, bells, everywhere.
Ring!
   Ring!
     Ring!
